Cedar Grove Plantation is located in Historic New
Kent, Virginia and was the home of the late First
Lady Letitia Christian Tyler, wife of our 10th president
John Tyler. The couple was married here at the plantation
March 29, 1813; Mrs. Tyler is buried with some of
her children in the cemetery here.
The Large Georgian Style brick home has been fully restored. Most of the original plantation buildings are still in existence. The staff at Cedar Grove would like to invite you out for a guided historic tour on horse back to view the plantation. See the circa 1700 home of former President John Tyler and his wife Letitia as you ride through this beautiful Virginia countryside. These gaited comfortable Tennessee Walking horses will carry you through many wooded trails and fields as your guide tells you of days gone by.
